My kelp and bubble pattern was inspired by the great Art Nouveau artist, Maurice Pillard Verneuil. His body of work is awe inspiring. Known for his floral and animal designs, his patterns were exquisite. I tried to capture the spirit of his approach in this design. In the background you can see the dotted lines of the nautical maps, overlayed with the twisting kelp which is hidden behind the air bubbles floating to the surface.
